On May 11, 2016, Eileen Gross formed the Phillips Charitable Foundation at the request of her dear friend Howard W. Phillips, Jr. As the founder and president of Phillips Charitable Foundation, Ms. Gross’ vision for philanthropy rests in her determination to build a strong and compassionate organization that supports charities providing a genuine impact in the lives of others.

The former Chief Financial Officer of Howard W. Phillips & Co., a privately-owned insurance agency founded in 1916 by brothers Howard W. Phillips Sr. and Albert Phillips, Ms. Gross has significant experience in financial and organizational management. She has served on the boards of Applied Systems Client Network Mid-Atlantic region as President from 2010 – 2013, Workforce Echoes, Inc. and Mayo Nursery School. She also participates in a variety of civic and community efforts.

Ms. Gross has over four decades of financial management experience in both the private and public sectors. She began her career in 1983 as a Forensic Accountant at Richard A. Eisner & Company (now EisnerAmper) in New York City. In 1985 she served as the Accounting Manager of Cahners’ Exposition Group in Stamford, CT; in 1987 as National Controller for ML Media Partners, a Merrill Lynch venture capital partnership in Greenwich, CT before returning to Eisner in 1988. After moving to the Washington, DC area in the early 1990s she continued her affiliation with Eisner while starting her private practice consulting for high net-worth individuals. In 2000, she joined Howard W. Phillips & Co., and enjoyed a fruitful career as their Chief Financial Officer where she retired in February 2016.

Along with her professional financial accomplishments, Ms. Gross has content-edited several books including Inside Out: Creating Work Environments That Lead to Exceptional Customer Service by Jeff Sullivan and Jennifer Good as well as APE Author Publisher, Entrepreneur – How to Publish a Book by Guy Kawasaki and Shawn Welch.

She earned a BS in Finance from Fordham University – The Gabelli School of Business, Bronx, New York in 1983.
